Blaze Teams “Bring a Friend” Week
“Bring a Friend” week will run the 3rd week of April (4/23-4/26) for all Blaze Teams. We will have “Buddy Pass” waivers available at the front desk the previous week. Please take home 2 waivers if you plan to bring a friend to each practice that week. Waivers must be completed and signed for your athlete’s friend to participate in practice.
We are planning an End of Season Banquet for all Blaze Cheer athletes. The event will be held Monday, April 30th from 6-8pm at Hope Lutheran Church. The Blaze Cheer Fund will kindly be providing the main dish and drinks, as well as announcing scholarship awards. Be on the lookout for a sign-up sheet closer to the banquet date to provide chips, side salads, desserts, fruits/veggies in a pot luck style to round out our dinner. Athletes are encouraged to dress up for the night of recognition for all their hard work this season!
If you have photos from the season that you would like submitted into our slideshow, please email those photos to [email protected]
Motion Athletics will be closed the week of Memorial Day.
Summer Classes begin June 4th. Registration is now open online and “Early Bird” prices will be available until June 1st. Make sure to register before June 1st to save on Camps, Clinics, and Punch Card options.
We will be hosting the Blaze Cheer Experience Prep Clinic from July 30th-August 1st for all athletes ages 7+ interested in competing on one of our in-state teams next season. This tryout prep camp will run from 9am-12pm each day. If your athletes participates in camp, their audition fee will be waived. Auditions for next season will be held the evening of Wednesday, August 1st and Thursday, August 2nd. Once teams are divided, 2-day team camps will be held the week of August 20th. We hope that holding auditions later this season will allow for everyone to work on skills throughout summer and avoid so many team changes throughout the early summer.
*For any interested athletes with schedule conflicts email [email protected] to schedule an alternate audition time*
Out of State Teams:
We will be running tryouts in a different form than seasons before. For all athletes wanting to compete on one of our out of state teams next season (Ages 9+ or currently on an out of state team), they will need to be in the stunt clinic with our new choreographer on Tuesday, June 12th. Through these clinics our choreographer will be helping divide the athletes into 3-4 teams based on numbers and skill level we have. From this first clinic, he will then invite the athletes he chooses to attend additional clinics on June 13th & 14th. We will then practice June-July in the groups he has chosen working on the material with stunt groups/pyramids he assigns before holding our final auditions for next season. He will then come back August 13th-15th to complete teams and choreography. If there is any conflicts with these dates please contact me if your athlete is planning on trying out next season.
The initial stunt clinic on June 12th will run (Age based off of August 31, 2018):
8-10am- Ages 6-8
(For our younger athletes this will just be a clinic not a placement form like older athletes)
10am-12pm- Ages 9-11
1-3pm- Ages 12-14
3-5pm- Ages 15+
June 13-14th – Clinic times TBA.
